I love fresh-cut flowers! I could not resist a visit to the L.A Flower Market this morning. Being amongst the huge array of amazing colours and textures is so inspiring. There’s something so indulgent about fresh-cut flowers. The tightly packed beautiful display of every flower imaginable got me thinking about the Dior Autumn/ Winter couture show.
Raf Simons’ debut as the Creative Director of Dior was nothing short of spectacular, using one million blooms to cover the walls of five grand rooms of a Parisian mansion. The floral masterpiece was the work of top fashion florist, Mark Colles. It took a reported forty people, fifty two hours working through the night to complete in time while the flowers were at the peek of perfection. The smell must have been amazing!
I wonder what happened to them all after the show!
