So when I had the recent opportunity to work on a photo shoot with the talented Kathryn Page and all round beach loving California girl Julia Conley, I had to call on the Lily White Dot Shirt No.1 for styling assistance. Fast becoming a California Tailor classic, the Lily White Dot is the perfect laid back button down. Paired up with some bleached out denims, I’m loving the white on white look. Simple and classic for summer.

I just had to share with you my favorite shot from the current California Tailor lookbook. I just love this photo. The beautiful bouquet of flowers, the perfect Sunset Blue stripe Shirt no.1 and all that California sunshine. Such a beautiful day at the beach.
It’s been raining all week here in (not so sunny) Los Angeles. To cheer myself up, I’ve put together a spring whites mood board to get me into the springtime spirit. So whether I’m throwing on my favorite Lily White Shirt No.1 and heading to the beach, or grabbing my most cherished white sneakers to wear around town, I keep reminding myself…Spring is just around the corner…and I can’t wait!

The New Year means new beginnings as California Tailor gets ready to launch our very first collection. We’re putting the final touches to Shirt No.1, hand checking each individual shirt making sure everything is perfect to ensure that the first collection leads the way in defining the perfect button down shirt.
Our highly limited first collection is going to be pretty special. It’s going to define the quality of the brand, so we are not taking any risks. Each shirt, inspired by sunny California and named after places which are special to us, will be sent out with a hand written note from me, California Tailor founder, Gill McLean.
