I’ve just discovered Alpines… and I’m in love! The London based pop duo have just released their debut album, “Oasis.” Full of melodic pop sounds, it’s on constant rotation in the California Tailor studio. The perfect summer soundtrack.
I have just got back form a few days in London enjoying time with family and friends. The sun was shining all week and I felt like I was witnessing the early blossom of an early English summer. So with London fresh on my mind, I thought I’d share a few of my snaps together with some pinterest favorites to get everyone in the English summertime mood.

With spring in full swing, and summer just around the corner, I think it’s time to invest in some new sunnies. I’m simply in love with the vintage inspired frames by Cutler and Gross. The 1112 BUGG frame, illustrated so beautifully here by Coco Pitt, has been cited as the highlight of the Cutler and Gross Spring Summer ‘2014 ‘English Garden Party’ themed collection. The London based company established in the 1970’s offers simple, classic pieces that will never go out of style. Perfect for a day at the beach!
As everyone may know, I love all things Liberty! So heading straight onto my spring shopping list is the latest editions from the ever popular Liberty London x Nike sneaker collaboration. The unique and beautiful collection of blue and white florals are a combination of Liberty of London prints dating back as far as 1930. The timeless Anoosha and Lora prints are pieced onto each shoe to create a beautiful patchwork inspired design, complete with old-style rope laces. The collection launches exclusively at Liberty on Monday April 7th.
Liberty x Nike coming to some happy feet near you!
The famous perfumer Frédéric Malle has teamed up with Liberty of London to create a stunning new collection of limited edition fragrances. Frédéric was lucky enough to access the Liberty print archive to select a range of prints that would best illustrate each perfume from the collection. Each beautiful design chosen from the 140 year old archive looks like it could have been specifically created to illustrate each scent. The bright bold patterns and colours are simply irresistible. I can’t choose a favorite…I want them all!
I’m a huge fan of illustration, so when I discovered the Fashion Illustration Gallery on a recent trip to London you can imagine how overjoyed I was. The London based gallery represents some of the worlds most accomplished illustrators who produce the most inspiring sketches, paintings and drawings. Every artist is truly unique, and their pieces are works of art in their own right.

The New Year always gives me inspiration to go out and discover new things. My love for new music has led me to discover the London based singer songwriter, Banks. The first time I heard her on the radio, I had to know who that was singing down the airwaves. The Los Angeles born London based artist has been gaining fans across the globe with her intimate soul sound. But incredibly she has only been performing for one year. A chance gift of a toy keyboard given to her by a friend coupled with a life long love of songwriters like Tracy Chapman and Lauryn Hill has helped her to produce the soulful and honest ” This is what it feels like” and “Warm Water”. Banks is a clear California Tailor favorite the perfect addition to your New Year playlist.

When I first heard that Liberty art fabrics and Vans were teaming up to create a limited range of Vans authentic sneakers this past summer, I rushed out and grabbed myself a pair. Well, the good news is they have come together again, just in time for Christmas. The Vans Liberty collection brings together the classic California heritage of Vans and the rich history of Liberty Art Fabrics. The perfect Christmas gift for the Liberty lover. I can’t wait to add them to my Christmas list.

Welcome to California Tailor, where timeless style meets the laid back spirit of California.
Our journey begins in London, England. Inspired by the traditions of tailoring, a love for all things classic and a British sense of humor, we travelled west to California. Our London look married perfectly with the casual laid back lifestyle of California’s endless summer and so our California love affair began. California Tailor will launch in the Spring with our first collection “Shirt No. 1”. Our take on the perfect button down shirt.

I’m a big fan of the talented Vita Yang. I have just stumbled across one of her beautiful illustration’s capturing The Beatles in mid flight. The original photograph was taken by Dezo Hoffman in the mid sixties. However, I love Vita Yang’s modern illustrative re-work.
