We are so excited to announce that the California Tailor online store is now open!

The final touches are complete and our Shirt No.1 collection is ready. We’ve selected the perfect plaids, classic stripes and our favorite florals for Shirt No.1. Getting ready to launch

January 20th, 2014

The New Year means new beginnings as California Tailor gets ready to launch our very first collection. We’re putting the final touches to Shirt No.1, hand checking each individual shirt making sure everything is perfect to ensure that the first collection leads the way in defining the perfect button down shirt.

Our highly limited first collection is going to be pretty special. It’s going to define the quality of the brand, so we are not taking any risks. Each shirt, inspired by sunny California and named after places which are special to us, will be sent out with a hand written note from me, California Tailor founder, Gill McLean.

Behind the scenes

As the New Year begins and California Tailor gets ready to launch, I thought it would be fun to show you some behind the scenes snaps from our Shirt No.1 photo shoot. The shoot took place on a perfect California summers day. With Venice beach as our backdrop we set to work bringing California Tailor to life on film. It was the most amazing day. The passion and huge talent of everyone involved has produced the most incredible images. I am so looking forward to sharing them with you over the next few weeks. Welcome to California Tailor, where timeless style meets the laid back spirit of California.

Our journey begins in London, England. Inspired by the traditions of tailoring, a love for all things classic and a British sense of humor, we travelled west to California. Our London look married perfectly with the casual laid back lifestyle of California’s endless summer and so our California love affair began. California Tailor will launch in the Spring with our first collection “Shirt No. 1”. Our take on the perfect button down shirt.

Autumn Inspiration

While I’m busy in the studio preparing for the launch of California Tailor, Autumn has finally hit Los Angeles at last! A chance to wrap up warm for walks on the beach, then come home to a cozy open fire and a warm cup of tea as the nights start to draw in.

You may have guessed that California Tailor loves the woven shirt. Plain or plaid, denim or dress, the classic button down is the wear any wear woven. From London to Los Angeles I have been busy putting the debut California tailor collection together and perfecting our very own button down. Shirt No. 1
